A few words from Dena Kaye...

The Ultimate Traveler's Collection

Treasures from Three Decades of Reporting--and Shopping--around the World

Inspired the humanitarian work of her father, Danny Kaye, legendary Hollywood entertainer and UNICEF's first ambassador to the world's children, Dena Kaye has made the world her neighborhood.

The Ultimate Traveler's Collection reflects her 30 plus years working as a journalist and photographer for such publications as Town & Country, Architectural Digest, Vogue and Travel & Leisure, her own television show on The Travel Channel, as the travel correspondent for the CBS Morning News, or her weekly radio show in New York City.

The Collection has no particular theme. "I just began buying things I liked", says Kaye, "I had no idea where I'd put everything, but somehow it all had certain style." The range of items: fantasy jewelry bought at the flea market in Paris, intricately carved wood ceremonial bowls unearthed at a dusty market in southern Africa, fabric (turned bedspread) sold at a night market in a Moroccan village, 30s bakelite bracelets from an American state fair, antique butter knives, discovered on London's Portobello Road, Ming vases from Hong Kong's antique stores and lambs wool and real Tibetan pashmina shawls woven at a project she supports in India.

Having recently decided to downsize her entire life, she reluctantly concluded it was time to share her treasures. A percentage of the profits will go to the Dena Hospital in India.

P.S. She is still a confirmed "shopper" because buying, or simply looking is a wonderful window into another culture.
