A rare, antique cast iron archival library bookcase with six adjustable steel shelves. More shelves are available. Designed by Angus Snead Macdonald, this modular book stacking system was produced in a range of sizes and configurations and revolutionized library book stacks. They were used in many notable libraries across the United States and internationally, including the Library of Congress, the Vatican and the New York Public Library.
