This interesting hand carving depicts a foo lion (or dog) catching a snake; as the foo figure is a protective symbol, keeping evil influences from the home, palace or temple. This is an unusually whimsical depiction, showing great animation. It would make a curious accessory as a piece of sculpture, but would also be clever set into a garden wall.
