This very early pot could date much earlier than our conservative estimate. It was hand crafted in a very interesting manner, featuring a thumbprint, scalloped rim and carved floral and bird designs, in relief, within unusually shaped cartouches around the stout body. It displays a mottled, rich brown glaze with gold highlights. It will make a stunning addition to a casual room or garden or patio area and is a great form for a planter.
