Japanese Meiji Kutani Pottery Covered Dish
Item: P2352
W 9″ D 9″ H 8″
This wonderful example of Japanese Kutani pottery is notable for several reasons. It is a very unusual piece, featuring a rat finial on the cover. (It is a symbol of good luck, but we prefer to refer to it as a "mouse"!) With a green background and polychrome designs, the vibrant colors depict more of the little creatures, playing musical instruments, having tea, working and marketing. A great addition to any pottery collection!.
