Unusual to be found in this form, this spice container is a table-top piece with a sliding lid, having an applied central panel, a form similar to those of candle boxes or pencil boxes. The interior features one larger and six smaller, open compartments. In today's home, it would find many creative uses; perhaps as a sewing box or storage of games pieces.
