These most unusual pieces were intended to hold lanterns for lighting. They were hand crafted with floating panel tops, surmounted by carved finials at the corners, over box-like forms with pierced and beaded hand-hold cutouts, in cloud forms, on the apron. The bodies are constructed with beaded, latticed panels on each side. A creative owner could find innovative uses for these in the modern, Western home.
