This long bench was hand crafted in waisted form, with mortised construction. It features a single plank top that displays the tenons of the legs, over a scalloped apron with scrolling, foliate carving. The legs are hand carved in an unusual, somewhat animal form with carved foliate decoration, terminating on horse hoof feet. This piece was rustically hand painted with tones of red and yellow on a black ground.
