Fashioned with a wavy rim, this provincial set of large soup plates was finished in the popular Imari tradition, featuring floral and foliate designs in iron red and blue, with accents of green and purple. Cobalt reserves display fine gilt tracery, repeated in accents throughout and finished with a gilt edge. W. Davenport & Co, Longport, Staffordshire (c. 1793-1887). Printed anchor, banner mark.
