This little, unmarked piece was fashioned with a foliate, scrolled C-handle and a baluster shape body. It is decorated with a black transfer design in a toile or chintz pattern, with the unusual addition of an overall, overglazed pink finish.; The rim and base are edged in copper lustre. The charm of this piece lies in the imperfections of the transfer pattern on the handle and in the pink glaze; perhaps an apprentice's work.
