Patterned after Scottish lamps, this hefty example features a wonderful, folk art handle at the top, featuring two birds, flanking a palm frond. It surmounts the oil well with four wick holders, and sits atop a tall column with a floriform segment and ball and urn turnings at the bottom. The piece rests upon a wide, deep drip pan. It could easily be converted to a handsome table lamp, but is an interesting accessory on its own.
