This case is from the Jewish settlement in Cochin, India. Used to house a scroll, it was hand crafted of repoussed brass, in a beautiful, floral pattern, overlaid with silver; save for the cartouche that would have housed an inscription. It is a beautiful item that would enhance any setting; but maybe will find itself in another Jewish home.
