Used for centuries, around the world, this form of oil lamp preceded candles. The oil was burned on wicks that emanated from the brass fount. This one is supported on a hand carved wooden stem in faceted, baluster form, with a round base, all painted a soft rose color. It makes an interesting and charming provincial accessory.
