Indian Bronze Offering Shrine
(Item: M2026)
Found in Kerala, India, this rectangular, low platform was hand crafted with a gallery edge on three sides; each end displaying shellfish pincer type figures. It was used as a surface on which to place small items as offerings, a common, Hindu practice. In the western home, it affords many possibilities as a platform for a treasure, or as a serving piece for food.
