This ornate pair of andirons were imaginatively concieved and beautifully crafted. Each features a seated lion atop a platform, that is flanked by two human figures, over a lion's head that surmounts a large grotesque mask, and terminates on double griffin feet. Very decorative fireplace accessories, they match P-34-0002, the stand and fire tools. They make an important statement for a stately fireplace.
