This decorative piece would serve as a console table, desk or sideboard. It features a dramatic, carved and pierced gallery back in scrolling, foliate design. The top houses three drawers with turned pulls and is supported by lyre-form ends that display elephant-heads at the tops of the uprights. The trestle stretcher is elaborately carved, as are the diagonal supports rising from it. The rich rosewood and excellent carving make this piece very special.
