Hand crafted with mortised construction, this early cupboard features a red lacquer finish, decorated with fine gilt tracery that depicts village scenes on the doors, surrounded by fret patterns on the frame; the apron with reserves of flowers and bats: a revered symbol of good luck. The doors sport a large, cloud-form escutcheon with raindrop pulls. They open to reveal a shelf that houses two, small drawers. A great storage piece! It is also very decorative.
