EMILE CARLIER, French Bronze Sculpture, as a Table Lamp
(Item: L0210)
Emile N. Carlier (French, 1849-1927). The artist carved part of the facade of the Sorbonne and received a gold medal in 1889. This small cast bronze depicts the figure of a miner with a cart. The cast signature on base reads: "Carlier". Presently, it sits atop a custom limestone base, and has been mounted as a table lamp. It is great to have a piece as mundane as a lamp take on new life as a piece of art.
