This small architectural piece was hand carved in rectangular form, with a conventionalized acanthus leaf carved over the niche. The frame displays incised crosses and the base, a scalloped pattern. It is a decorative little element that will make an interesting accent. It could be used as a shrine, or display shelf, but also might be an unusual soap dish set into a powder room wall.
