This large, hump-back trunk was hand fashioned and features wide, hand cut iron bands and side handles. It retains the original, hand painted finish with floral wreaths and sprays on a blue background. The wreaths on the front house the monogram: KPA, and the year: 1853. It is a bright, decorative piece that offers huge storage space. The bracket feet are a later addition.
