Hand fashioned, in a form popular for centuries in the Scandinavian countries, this locked box features extensive brass banding, cut in decorative shapes, as reinforcement. It features a pretty escutcheon for the original key, and twisted swing bails on the sides. The later stand, with a moulded top and barley twist legs and H stretcher displays an ebonized finish. It is a nice, little storage box, but also, with its flat top, a good side table.
