Stamped maker's mark: "Meynard Fils Ebeniste; Faubg S. Antoine 50; Paris". Meynard Leon-Guillaume, son of Guillaume-Mathieu, worked with his peer until 1866, than alone until 1873. He worked under the corporate name Meynard and Son and stayed at the address, 50, rue de Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, than sold his business in 1889. Meynard acquired a gold metal during his time at work.
A spindled gallery with decorative finials surmounts double, glazed cabinets that flank the open center, with its small, galleried shelf and shaped lower shelf. The top is supported by turned, urn-shaped posts. The lower portion houses three drawers over three doors; each with carved decoration, and separated by shallow pilasters. This is a very decorative piece, affording great storage and display.
