With an old, blackened patina, this walnut (noyer) wardrobe, displays three, deeply carved and stylized diamond point (pointes de diamante) panels on each of the double doors, which sit over a long drawer in the base; which terminates on flattened bun feet. Notice, also, the wonderfully moulded, deep cornice and the lovely steel hinges. This is a magnificent, early piece and a great example of the genre.
