(Item: C2328)
Crafted in the style of the 17th century, and deftly hand carved in deep relief, this small chest displays scrolling foliate and belleflower carving, with an egg-and-dart border, on the flat top, with bar room scenes on the front and back; each flanked by human-form pilasters. Hand forged iron handles are on the sides and the piece rests atop barley twist legs that support an X stretcher. The interior holds a later, compartmentalized insert.
