A magnificent example of the artistry and craftsmanship of the 18th century, the frame on this large, two-piece looking glass features a tall, hand carved and pierced crest with a spray of flowers within a double, scrolled cartouche. The flowing lines of the rococo, foliate style cascade down the sides of the frame and across the bottom. The pierced sides reveal an early green-painted background. A truly special mirror!
