This flat-top trunk was hand crafted of hefty planks of walnut and oak. The base displays very nice moulding and bracket feet. It is painted, overall, with subtley colorful floral designs, charmingly executed on a blue-green background. But the interior is a visual knockout, with a floral design on bright red, with wonderful, hand forged iron strap hinges. The brass, batwing escutcheons and side handles are of the period. This is a lovely storage piece and makes a nice coffee table.
