French Oak Hand Carved Trumeau used over a fire surround. This richly carved panel features a large, wonderfully detailed central plaque, featuring items of provincial life: a country gentleman's hat, quiver, torch, tambourine and love birds; suggesting a bucolic existence in the provences. It is surmounted by a deep cornice that exhibits borders in beaded, dentil and egg-and-dart designs. circa 1880
