This attractive trunk was hand crafted, possibly as a dowery chest. It features a gently arched lid and hand forged iron side handles. It is nicely painted with a mottled, blue-green background, red and white floral details, the monogram: BPD and the date: 1855. Popular for centuries, these trunks are still wonderful storage units.
