This piece was hand crafted in the 19th century, using parts from a century earlier. The shallow top and slant front display an interesting, shallow-carved design, foliate in nature. The lower front is of a deeply carved, floral pattern. The early, brass hardware is of the queen Anne period. Note the beautiful and unusual, large brass hasp. The box opens to small drawers on the interior. It is a charming accessory.
