This chest has several unusual features. Note the great, cast iron bands (most with rococo, pierced designs), the unusual, iron knobs on the top and the hefty lock. The piece retains most of an original, rust orange painted finish with polychrome floral designs. Open the domed lid and find an old lining of etched bookplates. Also note that it retains the original, turned feet; a rarity.
