This pretty chair was fashioned with graceful lines and proportion. It features a pierced back splat and rounded shoulders, gently curving arms and beaded, cabriole legs that terminate on scrolled feet. Finished in a patinated, pale lime green, it displays extensive, hand painted floral sprays within gold, rococo reserves, shell and bellflower carving on the crest rail and shells below the splat and on the apron. The upholstered seat is of claret silk. Notice how well it coordinates with the chest, V-37-0001.
