This dressy set of Portuguese Colonial chairs was fancifully conceived and fashioned in an elaborate adaptation of Victorian tradition. Each features a rounded back composed of C scrolls, a shell crest and foliate carving. The caned seats surmount a delicate, pierced apron with scrolling foliage and are supported by carved, cabriole legs with acanthus details and scrolled feet and support a plain H stretcher. They are in lovely condition.
