Often found in oak forests, tables such as this extremely rare and important 18th century stone table were used for preparation of game after a hunt. These are closely related to similar Neolithic items such as dolmens. This one was found on the ground floor of an 18th century house in a village near Autun, in the area of Burgundy. It is an exiting piece offering wonderful decorating possibilities as well as utility. With replaced stretcher.
