Displaying the pinned joinery of the 17th century, this large and lovely, stile-and-rail chest is a wonderful find. It features four hand carved panels on the front; each with an artistically designed and executed, stylized flower. It retains remnants of the original cotter pin hinges, but also has added, 18th century, hand forged iron hinges. The flat top lifts to reveal a candle box at one end. Note the beautiful patina of centuries of care.
