Known as an estancionaria gabinete, this table-top secretary was designed like the top of a vargueno. It was fashioned with oak back and walnut veneer in geometric designs, with a hand forged iron lock. The drop front opens to a central door and small drawers; also veneered in patterns. The door displays an applied, cast brass madonna. It is an intriquing piece and useful for storage of small treasures.
