Handcrafted in the Portuguese colony of Goa in southern India, these altarsticks were designed to be viewed from the front, decorated on one side with wide channelled scrolls and retaining the original blue and ochre painted finish and iron prickets. Each baluster stem is raised on a tripartite footed base and demi-lune plinth. See also: W1703.
