This very early chair is of a simple design indicative of the period. It features broad uprights, arms with scrolled ends, straight legs and a wonderful, broad, front stretcher, carved back with border designs and pierced medallions. The wheat-colored linen velvet on the back and sling seat is a recent, and handsome addition. It is a masculine piece and would be fabulous in a man's study or bedroom.
