Edward Thomason (1769-1849), (Birmingham, active 1830-31) Of unusually heavy weight (3.75lb.), this lovely vegetable dish bears clear hallmarks on all pieces, denoting the maker: It was fashioned with shell and foliate designs around the curving lip and on the top of the cover; with a heavy grape design on the removable handle. It is a beautiful display piece and a centerpiece for food service.
