This unusually long, low bench was beautifully fashioned, with hand carved details associated with the Napoleonic era. Note the flared acanthus leaf details on the scrolled arms, the medallions on the leg blocks, and the formal, floral medallion at the center of the seat. This rare piece has been recently recaned in a most sophisticated manner. It will make an important decorating statement in the modern home.
