This antique door is among the best we have found. It is crafted of solid teak, including the massive jamb, and carved in the Portuguese Baroque style found in Goa. Each door is finely carved with oval panels with decorated corner spandrels and retains traces of old paint. Note the size of the single slab lintel above the door which is hand chiseled from one piece of thick wood. These doors are very solid and sturdy and could be used as interior or exterior doors. As with most early Indian doors the back is not carved, showing iron hinges and straps.
