This museum quality, antique, architectural facade fragment shows a blend of Elmslie's Louis Sullivan training with organic, foliate ornamentation and Art Deco geometry. This example is covered in a white slip. Elmslie also worked with renowned Prairie School architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. This building ornament was designed by Elmslie and modeled by the Midland Terra Cotta company. Reference: Midland Terra Cotta Company catalog, plate 77. Provenance: salvaged from a recent demolition of a commercial building (Chicago, IL).
