This early, antique, two-part chest was rescued from an unfortunate history. The white and yellow paint was removed to discover a finish with walnut and birch veneer on the drawers. The four, long drawer fronts are fashioned with mitered, geometric, cushion-moulded detail, flanked by black stained, turned spindle detail. The feet and one moulded edge have been replaced as was the period brass hardware. It is a good example of this form.
