English Bristol Victorian Cranberry Glass Compote or Candy Dish

Ref: H-57-0001

This classic piece is beautifully hand-blown with a teardrop in the clear stem. Bristol glass was highly collected both in England and Europe during the late 18th and 19th centuries. Bristol cranberry glass was first introduced around 1850 and made by adding 24k gold to the lead crystal to achieve its deep red coloring. This small compote, bon-bon, or nut dish makes a lovely serving piece.
