DETAILS
This grand scale, carved, antique panel was once above a large doorway in the famous Jockey Club Building in Buenos Aires. It is hand carved with neoclassical decoration of an urn and cornucopias and retains the original finish and patina.
PROVENANCE
Jockey Club Building (Florida Street, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1897-1953). Architect: Manuel Turner. Completed by Alejandro Christophersen and Emilio Agrelo. Sadly, this beautiful historic building was destroyed by fire by militant Peronist party members in 1953.
