A vintage, enameled metal wall-mount, soda-acid fire extinguisher with hose and wheel cap.
Portable soda-acid fire extinguishers were originally developed in the late 19th century. The tank is inverted causing the baking soda solution and sulphuric acid to mix creating a chemical reaction of carbon dioxide gas in order to extinguish the fire. This type of firefighting equipment was eventually decommissioned in 1969.
