Near Pair of Large Indo-Portuguese Painted Teak Pricket Candlesticks

DETAILS
Similar enough to be used as a pair, these enormous, antique 18th century pricket sticks were hand crafted, probably for use as altar sticks. They feature the original, hand forged iron prickets and are carved with broad drip bases, baluster turned stems and round turned bases. Each retains traces of former painted finishes. They are impressive enough to make a real design statement and could be converted to lamps.
