This charming painting depicts a young woman carrying a yoke. Her red apron and the painted well buckets add great appeal. She is the focus of the painting with they yellow grass and green bushes in the background. It is housed in a lovely, deep, giltwood frame. The artist typically sketched plein-air and completed the painting in his studio. He came from a well known family of painters as the son of Philip August Fischer and the brother of Paul Fischer. He is a listed artist and his work is represented in museums including Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Denmark.
