Signed: Ame Malade/ Lithograph on Stone/ Albert Sterner. A candlelit scene of an ill woman in bed with two figures entering the room. Sterner achieved international success as an lithographer, illustrator and painter. His work is represented in numerous institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Brooklyn Museum, the Carnegie Institute (Pittsburgh) and the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto). He is known for his nudes and portraits but his work also includes landscapes, still-life and religious subjects.
