The antique, tortoiseshell boulle work case has glazed side panels and fire gilt flambeau finials topped with a mansard roof and gilded trumpeting putto. The front displays a cast ormolu dial with musicians encircled by blue and white enamel Roman cartouche chapters, flanked by male caryatid mounts above a lyre and foliage mounts. It sits atop an ormolu mounted, bracket shelf.
