A small antique vase of amphora form with a tall flared neck on a baluster body with two clear glass arms and round foot. The cobalt blue body is decorated with a gilt transfer band of fruit embellished with a border of white enamel dots. Together with a hand written note: From the desk of / John Z. Miller / May 7 1955 / Dear Kathy, / Your great-grandmother and I got this glass vase in Italy in 1937. I / thought you would like to have it. Your mother will take good care of it for you. / With love and a big kiss. Great grandad.
